AEO/GEO RADAR · 11 October 2026

A quiet Sunday. Google's Search Console report is more than 64 hours behind, and a count of 1,851 local firms finds fewer than half named by AI.

Search Console's Performance report is more than 64 hours behind

Schwartz reports the Performance report is "now over 64 hours delayed, which is incredibly unusual for this report", against a normal lag of a few hours. His screenshot was taken around 7am Eastern on Sunday. On Google's side: "I have not seen Google comment on these new delays as of yet." The status dashboard lists no October incident. He notes the last comparable delay was December 2025, and doubts the theory that it signals a core update. Limits: one reporter, one screenshot, user reports on X, and no Google statement on cause or scope.

Standing items: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude

ChatGPT's one new note (9 October) is message suggestions in the Codex coding app. Nothing on search, sources or shopping. Perplexity's changelog and migration page are unchanged, with no Sonar model named. Anthropic's table is unchanged: `claude-sonnet-4-5-20250929` retires 30 November, `claude-haiku-4-5-20251001` is Active with "Not sooner than October 15, 2026", now four days away. The engine's `main` is still `06233ce` with `gpt-5.1`, `sonar` and `claude-sonnet-4-5` in `src/adapters.ts` and `claude-haiku-4-5` in `src/extract.ts` (checked today).

Zarla: fewer than half of top-listed local trade businesses were named

Method: one question per trade and city ("best {trade} in {City, ST}"), ten trades (plumber, electrician, roofer and so on), ten US cities, asked of search-enabled ChatGPT and Google's AI Mode. The sample was the top 20 Google Places results in each cell: 1,851 listings. Result: 43.65% (808) were "confirmably named by at least one assistant". ChatGPT named 35.6%, AI Mode 18.4%, and both named 9.8%. Named businesses had a median of 444 Google reviews against 192 for the rest. The page says its sample is skewed toward the most visible businesses, so the rate for small businesses overall would be lower. Limits: a website-builder vendor with a free checker to promote, its own matching software, one day, one question per cell, aggregates only, and no word on whether the app or the API was asked.

Insites: AI knew most local businesses and got nearly half of them wrong

10,000 local businesses checked on ChatGPT and Perplexity. "93% of the businesses in our study were known by at least one AI platform", but only "55% had accurate information". Businesses found by both platforms averaged 133 Google reviews, and those found by neither averaged 11. Page speed, structured data, llms.txt and FAQ schema showed no meaningful correlation with being recommended. Limits: the post gives no country, industries, questions or run dates, it is correlation only, and the author sells AI visibility audits to agencies.
